Good Day Tour Players,

Thanks for playing in our 8th Annual Kickoff Classic @ Dragonfly Golf Course on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

We had a great day to play for this time of year. The weather cooperated and was sunny all day. The temperature actually got into the low 60’s. The golf course played fairly tough, with only 7 players breaking 80 on the day. Roland Jasmann shot the low round of the day with a +3 round of 76.

The shot of the day goes to several players. We had several eagles on the day.  Terry Trout holed out from the fairway for eagle on #6, Keith Kamimoto eagled #13, Justin Lewis eagled #17, Chase Yoshida and Pat Palacioz both eagled #18.

The Championship Flight was again won by Kevin Duffy, by one shot over Eric Evans with a round of 82.  This is Kevin’s 2nd win on the CCA Tour. Good job Kevin!

The Palmer Flight was won by Chase Yoshida with a round of 77 to win by two shots over Jeff Lee, and Keith Kamimoto..  Jon Swift was third. This is Chase’s 2nd win on Tour in his 2nd start. Good playing Chase!

The Senior Palmer Flight was won by Roland Jasmann with a round of 76 to win by two shots over Frank Ontiveros.  Nelson Fowlkes and Sonny Santiago tied for third. This is Roland’s 20th win on CCA local Tour in his 11th season on the AM Tour. Great playing Roland!

The Hogan Flight was won by Justin Lewis, shooting a round of 79 to win by one shot over Adam Goltz and by two shots over Patrick Wilson. This was Justin”s 1st win in his first start on the AM Tour. Way to go Justin!

The Senior Hogan Flight was won by Ray Garcia, shooting a round of 77 to win by six shots over Marc Watts. Robert Rogers was 3rd. Ray shot a very good back nine of 36 to get the win. This was Ray’s 2nd win on the CCA local Tour. That away Ray!

The combined Sarazen Flight was won by Art Bocanegra, with a round of 81, to win by four shots over Chris Smart. Russell Probasco finished 3rd. This was Art’s 7th win on the CCA local Tour and 3rd win at the Dragonfly course.  Good playing Art!

The Jones Flight was won by Wayne Brown, shooting a round of 106 to win by six shots over Ronnie Harrell.  This was Wayne’s 5th win on the CCA/SAC local Tour. Well done Wayne!

The combined Snead Flight was won by Betty Jasmann by four shots over Howard Thomason. This was Betty’s 28th win starting in her 11th season on the AM Tour. We also had a double Jasmann win for the day with her husband Roland also winning the Senior Palmer flight. I think that’s the first time that has ever happened. Nice going Betty!

If you’re new to the AM Tour and didn’t play as well as you hoped. Just remember it takes time to learn how to play stroke play tournament golf on basically unfamiliar golf courses. Many players go thru an adjustment before they find the best flight to play in. After you play in (4) GCAT events, you will establish a GCAT tournament index. We then use your tournament index to monitor your flight participation from that point forward on the AM Tour.

For those of you that are new members, you can go to Tour website at www.gcamtour.com  or the new phone app. Once your profile comes up you can click on results and look at the Race to Nationals points or Season Stats. Lots of fun statistics to look at.

We are off to a great start with 18 new members so far this early in the season. Word of mouth is still the best form of marketing for the AM Tour. Tell your friends.  Have them put your name down on the membership app and you get a $50 referral gift card. We had several new members to the AM Tour playing in their first event and or playing in their first CCA event; Welcome to the CCA AM Tour: James Rice, Jon Swift, Morgan Brockman, Justin Lewis, Joshua Miner, Jerry Williamson, Michael Harrigan, David Quintel, Larry Smyth.

We also have several players that were off the Tour for a few seasons and have started up again. Welcome Back to the AM Tour: Tim Schinner, Robert Rogers, and Chris Smart. Good to see you guys back out again.

Our next CCA tournament will be on February 16 @ Paso Robles GC and on February 17 @ Morro Bay GC.  Please note that this is President’s Day weekend so rooms will go fast on the Central Coast. The registration deadline is Monday, February 11 at 8pm.

Thanks again for playing in the CCA 8th Annual Kickoff Classic @ Dragonfly.
