This competition shall be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. The following Local Rules & Definitions shall also be in effect as well as Local Rules & Definitions posted in the golf shop or on the course scorecard. 

 

• Pace of Play: 4:34: Each group is individually responsible for maintaining and policing their groups pace of play.  The finishing time for each hole is located on your scorecard.  Players may inform another contestant that he/she is the cause of the group being out of position as a courtesy to that player.  Rules Officials are not required to notify groups that they are out of position.
• 2 - stroke penalty will be assessed to the 1st group for failing to complete the front or back nine in 2 hours 15 minutes or less
• 2 – stroke penalty will be assessed to any group failing to complete their 9th hole within  14 minutes of the group in front of them
• 2 – stroke penalty will be assessed to any group finishing in 4:30+ and finishing 14+ minutes behind the group in front of them

 

 

TIME OF STARTING: Members must be present in time to see the group in front of them tee off. Note to Rule 6-3 and Optional Condition in App. 1-C-2 shall be in effect. Penalty-2 strokes for 6-3, Disqualification for Optional Condition.

 

CONDUCT UNBECOMING: The use of loud, foul or abusive language toward ones-self, any member, Tour or course official will not be tolerated.   A member is subject to revocation of playing privileges and membership for the continued use of such language.  Any member throwing a club in anger or frustration will be disqualified immediately.   A Tour official need not witness the club throwing to disqualify a member. The “tossing” of a club towards a bag or cart that misses the bag or cart by more than five (5) paces is deemed a “throw” and that player is disqualified.

 

DOUBT AS TO PROCEDURE:  Invoke Rule 3-3 and play two balls, keep both scores, do not sign card until requesting a ruling. Both balls must be played through the conclusion of the hole.

 

LIMITATION OF BALLS: The ball the player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the United States Golf Association. Penalty for breach of condition: Disqualification.  The responsibility of playing the proper ball rests with the player.  Each player should put an identification mark on his ball and alert his fellow competitors of such.  The one ball rule is NOT in effect.

 

RULINGS:  All group members must be present before requesting a ruling. Questions concerning Rules infractions and/or the calling of same must be done at the time of the infraction or prior to the completion of your flight at the scoring area. Any dispute or doubtful point called after the completion of the flight will not be considered with exception to those as defined in Rule 34-1(b).

 

ELECTRONIC DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES: The use of an electronic distance measuring device is allowed for this event per Decision 14-3/.05. Any device with an on-off switch for gradient is non-conforming. Penalty for use of a non-conforming device is disqualification.

 

EMBEDDED BALL RULE: Embedded ball rule is in effect, through the green.

 

OUT OF BOUNDS:  Defined by the inside edges at ground level of boundary walls, split-rail fences, perimeter fence posts, street curbing, roads, parking lot, white stakes and white lines connecting markers. Also check local rules as some areas may be marked as out of bounds but by local rules we will be playing it as a lateral hazard.  A ball that crosses a public road defined as out of bounds and comes to rest beyond that road is out of bounds, even though it may lie on another part of the course. 

 

SEARCHING FOR A BALL:  Rule 27 states that a player has 5 minutes to search for a ball once they have reached the area that they feel the ball is in. At 5 minutes and 1 second, that ball is LOST and the player must proceed under the applicable Rule.  If 2 or more balls, whether they are from the same player or not, are thought to be in the same general area, the search time is 5 minutes total, NOT EACH!

 

BUNKERS:  Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions. Rule 24-1.

In the event that your ball is in a bunker that is unplayable due to the condition of the bunker (bunker washed away or limited sand) and with approval from your playing partners the tour will allow you “Rake and Place”.  This means that the player can lift the ball. Rake the trap to create a “normal” bunker condition and then Place the ball into the raked spot.

An unplayable lie maybe defined as follows:

An unraked footprint, a groove or tire track left by maintenance equipment, an eroded out area, mud due to excessive rain.

 

IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: Relief without penalty shall be given for the following obstructions: (1) concrete cart paths, (2) restroom facilities, (3) river rock along any side of a concrete cart path, (4) where the obstruction interferes with the line between player’s ball and the hole if the obstruction is within two club lengths of both the green and the ball. Relief is only provided to the nearest point. See LOCAL RULES for more obstructions.

 

LATERAL WATER HAZARDS: All unmarked water hazards are deemed to be lateral water hazards.

 

GROUND UNDER REPAIR: Defined by white lines. If it’s not marked, it’s not under repair unless noted under the LOCAL RULES or agreed upon for all competitors within the group. EXCEPTION: French drains are deemed to be ground under repair regardless of their being marked or not. 

 

CLOSE OF COMPETITION:  The competition in each flight is deemed to have closed when the trophy has been presented to the winner.
