Please review this entire email carefully as it contains important Player Information.   Players are requested to print this and bring with them to the tournament. Pairings for the first round will follow.

 

ON-SITE REGISTRATION AND CHECK-IN
 

The upstairs meeting room at the Ocean Course is the venue for check-in and registration.  Registration and check-in can be found at the following times.  All Tour Players are requested to check-in on Friday if at all possible:

 

Friday, March 15, 2019 from 3:30 PM-6:30 PM

 

Tour Players will receive their welcome pack upon checking in as well as be provided an opportunity to enter the optional Skins Game. 

Late check-in will be available Saturday morning from 7am to 10am at the Ocean Clubhouse for players scheduled to play the Ocean Course on Saturday and the Turtle Clubhouse for players scheduled to play the Turtle Course on Saturday.

 

OPTIONAL SKINS GAME

 

As noted above, entry into the Skins Game is optional and will be handled at check-in.  The following Skins Games will be available:

 

Giant Course Skins $20 ($10 each day)

 Flight Skins game $40 ($20 each day)

 

Total buy-in for Skins is $60 and must be paid in cash.  No partial entries will be allowed. 

 

OPTIONAL 50/50 RAFFLE

 

Golf Channel Am Tour is excited to offer a 50/50 Charity Raffle at all 2019 Majors. After careful consideration and in the hope of affecting the most worthy of causes, the benefitting charity will be Troops First.

Golf Channel Amateur Tour members will have the opportunity at Tournament Check-In on Friday through Sunday morning to purchase $20 tickets for the 50/50 raffle. Half of the total amount collected at each event will be awarded to one lucky winner via raffle during Sunday’s tournament awards presentation; the remaining half will go entirely and exclusively to the Troops First Foundation. 

 

 

STARTING TIMES

 

Starting times for Saturday will be posted online today at www.golfchannel.com/amateurtour.   It is the responsibility of the Player to be at his/her assigned starting hole at least 15 minutes in advance of the starting time.  The starters will have information to discuss and distribute to each Player in the group.    Players/groups will not be paged or called to the tee.   Players arriving to the tee at their starting time will be deemed to be late to the tee.  The Ocean Course will start with a #1 and #10 start on Saturday, March 16th beginning at 8:00am and a #1 and #10 start on Sunday, March 17th beginning at 8:00am.  The Turtle Course will start with a #1 and #10 start on Saturday, March 16th beginning at 8:00am and a #1 and #10 start on Sunday, March 17th beginning at 8:00am.

Every player is scheduled to play one (1) round on the Ocean Course and one (1) round on the Turtle Course.  The course rotation and Flight rotation is below and is subject to change.

DRIVING RANGE

 

The driving range will open by 7:00am each morning.  Range balls are included as warm up balls on the range before the event. 

 

TIES/PRIZING

 

An on-course playoff will determine the Kiawah Island Champion in each flight if there is a tie for 1st place.  

 

The Kiawah Island Championship will reward (approximately) the top 25% of each flight with Dick’s Sporting Goods Gift Cards.   All Tour Players who are in the top 25% of their flight on Sunday are requested to stay in the scoring area.  Prize fund distributions and an awards ceremony will take place for each flight as soon as the last scorecard is recorded for that particular flight.  All awards will be presented at the clubhouse that you finish at.  If your final round is played at the Ocean Course, then the awards and prizing will be at the Ocean Course.  If your final round is played at the Turtle Course, then the awards and prizing will be at the Turtle Course.   

 

 

CELL PHONE POLICY

 

Cell phones are permitted to be in the “on” position during each stipulated round.  We ask that you place your phone on “silent mode”.  Cell phones may be used as a distance measuring device in Golf Channel Am Tour tournaments.   We ask that players use common courtesy and not talk on the phones unless it is an emergency.

 Caddies and Spectators

 
Single Premium Caddies are available for the Ocean Course only.  A $100 gratuity is required and must be paid in cash to the caddy.  Players can bring their own caddies or carry their own bag.  The Ocean course will be cart path onlySpectators are welcome at all Golf Channel Amateur Tour tournaments provided the course allows spectators to walk the course and the spectators do not interfere with pace of play.  Spectators must stay by the cart path off the playing surface of the golf course.  Spectators are the responsibility of the player they are watching and must remain out of play and practice proper golf etiquette at all times.  Spectators and/or caddies are not permitted in a player golf cart at anytime.  Use of carts are for the sole use of the players.  Any spectator or caddie found riding in a player golf cart may result in the immediate disqualification of the player(s) who are associated with the violating spectator(s) and/or caddie(s) at 2018 Majors and the 2018 National Championship.  Spectator carts are not available at any Major or National tournaments.   

 

 

 

PLAYER CODE OF CONDUCT

 

By submitting an entry for any GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour event, the contestant understands that his/her participation is at the sole discretion of the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour.  A contestant may be removed from any competition at the discretion of the GCAT staff or committee at any time before or during the competition.  Incidents of unbecoming conduct or actions deemed to be detrimental to the image of the GOLF CHANNEL Amateur Tour or the “spirit of the game” are grounds for such removal and suspension/expulsion from the Tour.  These include, but are not limited to:

1.       Willful damage of the golf course or golf course property

2.       Club throwing or unnecessary club tossing

3.       Offensive or unbecoming language

4.       Public criticism of golf course or verbal abuse of Am Tour staff, officials, host club staff, or other contestants

5.       Potential endangerment of others

6.       Conduct deemed unbecoming

 

 

DRESS CODE

 

All Tour Players and caddies/spectators are expected to abide by the Kiawah dress code (slacks, Bermuda length shorts, collared shirt or similar golf shirt tucked in) with hats being worn with the bill being in the front.  No jeans or denim of any kind.  Mandatory Soft Spikes.
