LOCAL RULES AND CONDITIONS OF COMPETITION

Please Note:  Additional local rules may be added the day of the event due to course and weather conditions.  These will be given to you verbally prior to teeing off.

The USGA Rules of Golf shall govern this competition.  The following Local Rules & Definitions shall also be in effect.  Disregard all Local Rules & Definitions posted in the golf shop or on the course scorecard.  Unless otherwise noted, the penalty for breach for a local rule or condition is two strokes.

Pace of Play Policy:

The Golf Channel Am Tour Pace of Play policy utilizes a two checkpoint system.  Two things to keep in mind:

  • Players will not receive warnings.

  • Each group is responsible for monitoring their own pace.

To avoid penalty, groups must complete each checkpoint hole:

1. Under the allotted time on the scorecard, OR
2. Within 14 minutes of the group ahead.

PENALTIES First Breach in Round = 2 stroke penalty to each player in the group. Second Breach in Round = additional 2 stroke penalty to each player in the group.

LIMITATION ON BALLS: The ball the player plays must be named on the current List of Conforming Golf Balls issued by the United States Golf Association. Penalty for breach of condition: Disqualification.  The responsibility of playing the proper ball rests with the player.  Each player should put an identification mark on his ball and alert his fellow competitors of such.  The one ball rule is NOT in effect.

TIME OF STARTING: Players must start at the time established by the Committee.  If a player is late for his starting time but arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes after his starting time, in the absence of circumstances that warrant waiving the penalty of disqualification as provided in Rule 33-7, the penalty for failure to start on time is two strokes.  Penalty for lateness beyond five minutes is disqualification, no exceptions.

DISTANCE MEASURING DEVICES: Players may use devices that measure distance ONLY.  The use of devices that gauge or measure other conditions that might affect a player’s play (e.g. wind or gradient) are not permitted.  Those competitors who do not possess a device are NOT to use another competitor's device without the consent of the owner.

CELL PHONES/PAGERS: Players are asked to silence cell phones and pagers.  Cell phones may be used as a distance measuring device.

PRACTICE BETWEEN HOLES PROHIBITED: A player must not play any practice stroke on or near the putting green of the hole last played.  If a practice stroke is played on or near the putting green of the hole last played, the player shall incur a penalty of two strokes at the next hole, except in the case of the last hole of the round, he incurs the penalty on that hole.  However, Rule 7-1 has been modified, so that competitors will be allowed to practice on the competition courses after each round

STONES IN BUNKERS: Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions (Rule 24-1 applies).

OBSTRUCTIONS: Relief without penalty shall be given for the following immovable obstructions: (1) artificial cart paths, (2) buildings, (3) fans , (4) temporary man-made structures, (5) Signage.
